Study on aeration performance of different types of piano key weir

چکیده

Abstract Aeration is the process of increasing dissolved oxygen (DO) content water, which an important water quality parameter for survival aquatic life. In this process, large amounts air bubbles develop; as a result, contact surface area increases, and hence water-air-mass transfer accelerates. There are numerous methods DO concentration in including self-aeration, mechanical aeration, chemical hydraulic structures. The structures economical efficient way enhancing stream/river aeration. Even though only comes into with structure short while, it increases amount river system. study, experimental investigation has been carried out to determine aeration performance different types piano key weir (PKW). To end, three (type-A, type-B, type-C) PKW laboratory-scaled models were tested. results demonstrated that type-A created maximum efficiency types. addition, show all drop height but decreases discharge over weirs.
